Rescue training takes you beyond the purely recreational level by expanding your knowledge and skills to assist other divers, handle problems and emergencies, and prevent those problems, leaving you with a sense of security as a diver that cannot be obtained in any other way. Rescue certification is a prerequisite for all leadership level training.
The course makes the serious subject of accident management enjoyable and rewarding. Until now, the emphasis of your training has been you and your dive buddy; the rescue training teaches you to make diving more safe and enjoyable for others.
EFR Training First off before setting out on the Rescue Diver Course you do need to be medically trained. If you have medical training already it needs to be valid within the last 2 years & you need to bring proof of your certification with you. Otherwise we can offer you the Emergency First Response Course.
What's involved¡ The Emergency First Response (EFR) program can show you how to respond if someone needs help. The Emergency First Response - Primary Care course provides extensive instruction in CPR and First Aid, as well as offering optional Secondary Care and Emergency Oxygen sections.
Practical applications allow you to build and polish your skills. The chances are that you will probably never need to use the skills that you learn on this course, however, should the need arise to use the skills in providing emergency medical attention, you will have the knowledge to respond quickly with confidence.
What do I need to start¡ There is no dive certification required nor minimum age limit. How long will it take¡ The Primary Care course lasts four hours and can be completed in half a day.
How much¡ Only 3500 THB including the Manual.

What's involved¡ During this course, you'll learn how to foresee, prevent and manage potential diving accidents; from assisting a tired diver to handling possible emergency scenarios, you'll practice applying the knowledge and skills that can make the difference in the unlikely event that problems do arise.
What do I need to start¡ You must be an Open Water Diver and have recognized CPR certification, such as the Emergency First Response , within the past two years. You may be asked to prove proof of logged dives.
Big Blue provides all equipment, boat trips, etc., for the duration of the course. We can lend you the SSI Manual for all SSI Courses but the PADI Manuals must be bought for an additional 800 Baht if you choose to do a PADI Course.

Typical Diary of the Rescue Diver Course.
Day 1-10am-12pm: You'll meet with your Instructor & learn the theory behind the Rescue Course. 1pm- 5.30pm: We're out on the boat to go through some rescue scenarios, compass skills & oxygen procedures alongside the use of first aid treatment.
Day 2- 10am-12pm: More Rescue theory discussing scenarios & procedures. There is also an exam, Good luck! 1pm-5.30pm: Final Scenarios. Your Instructor will set up a rescue scenario where you will need to put into practice everything you have learned in the last 2 days by managing the scene & organizing rescue & necessary first aid treatment.
Now what¡ After successfully completing your Rescue training, you may wish to continue your dive education to the first professional Diver certification the PADI Divemaster. An intense 6 week training program aimed at training you to a professional level which will give you the opportunity to actually live & work in paradise!
